What is DigiByte?
DigiBytes (DGB) are digital assets on the Digibyte blockchain. These assets can be used to represent any unit of value such as currency, information, multimedia, IOT data, etc. The networks’ claim to fame is that it is the longest, fastest and reportedly most secure blockchain in the crypto sphere. System’s security comes from 200,000+ nodes operating the network and 5 independent mining algorithms, whose difficulty is adapted in real-time. Speed is derived from a 15 second block time and early SegWit adoption, making DigiByte the fastest UTXO protocol. The DigiByte ecosystem has a layered architecture where the bottom layer has nodes running the network, the middle one is the transaction layer, then there’s a Dapp and smart contract layer built on top.
