What is Litecoin?
Litecoin (LTC) was created as a "light" version of Bitcoin. Initially minable by GPU under the Scrypt Proof of Work (PoW) scheme and with a block time target of 2.5 minutes. It's creator, Charlie Lee managed to create a fork of bitcoin which achieved faster and cheaper transactions with those alternations, as well as more accessible mining at the cryptocurrency's initial stages. Today, Litecoin might be minable by ASICs but its technology and lively community still put it at the forefront of crypto markets.
